Fight for Justice : Baltimore, MD

Who am I to you?

Just a black face in the crowd

Who am I to you?

A black face who you think always frown

It’s sad to think that the man wants to keep us down

But when you spend all your life beneath the ground

You want to rise up

Most importantly wise up

Police and coppers try to stop us

But if we come together NO ONE CAN STOP US

Not just as a race

But as a nation

We can make changes that couldn’t be made

But as a nation

We have to stop the shenanigans

And know the worth of each woman and man. .

Did you know that a countless number of African-Americans have been killed by law enforcement in the past decade? My heart is broken. It’s sad to see that racism is still a problem and it’s going to continue to be a problem as long as “The Man” is in charge. I’m broken hearted that young black college students are getting beat for no reason and I’m really upset at the fact that someone lynched a black man in Mississippi.  I thought those days were long gone, but I guess I was wrong. I feel that Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream still has not been accomplished. I do understand that segregation was lifted and we do have a first black president, but how come I’m still getting discriminated against?  I’m at that point in my life where I’m ready for a real career and it’s kind of frustrating because there have been jobs that’s I’ve worked in the past and wanted a promotion, but due to the managers, “I wasn’t a strong enough candidate.”  I know I’m not the only one getting treated this way. It’s time for us to rise up and focus on how to make our people better so we can follow our dreams. I feel that “The Man” allow white people to live their American dream, but what about us? The article to the right is from Gawker and they have a list of confirmed deaths by police. #prayersfortheirfamilies

Racism is at its climax in modern society. In the picture to the right, you see, Emit Til, Trayvon Martin, & Mike Brown.  This picture bought tears to my eyes alone because I thought about all the innocent black people who lost their lives due to racial pigs who hated. As a young educated African-American woman, it’s scary to even think about coming in contact with the police. The only reason I feel that way is because of my pigments. Am I going to get shot down too because some police officers don’t like black people? That’s scary to think that way and if the government doesn’t want to protect us, we have to protect each other! #Blacklivesmatter

As an African-American, 23 year old, it terrifies me that institutions are terrorizing innocent black people.  Otis Graham attended the University of Virgina and was attacked terribly.  If we do not come together and stop racial profiling and police brutality, the results will be tragic. #Blacklivesmatter

I came across this cartoon and didn't find it funny... we all need to stand up and spread the word that #Blacklivesmatter

It highly upsets me that racism is at its climax in modern society today. Recently, there have been more innocent black men dying in the streets and it is ridiculous!  When I saw this news report on CNN, I thought to myself we have got to do something about stopping racism.  Last night, I was watching an episode of the Boondocks and it was about society in the slave days. The white people would run away from the black people with terror, and my boyfriend asked me, “Why do all the black people look like zombies?”  I answered, “That’s how some white people see us, as zombies who just want to torture and terrorize when that’s not the case.”  It’s sad that racism has not ended. It’s sad that we still have innocent black men dying due to racist ignorant bastards who have closed minds. It’s a tragedy.
