Good Afternoon!
As well all know, hip hop was at best back in the day. From EPMD, Run DMC, Wu Tang, the list goes on.
The main reason, I did this site was to get that real hip-hop back into mainstream and so we can establish our era, our generation.
Let’s be real! Mainstream hip hop (some of it), is complete and utter bullshit. I remember when I was younger people enjoyed the realness of hip-hop. Sensitive subjects were talked about for a reason, so we could make a change! For example, “One Mic,” by Nas was one of the most controversial songs made! In the Album Illmatic, he touched super sensitive subjects about being a black man in America, how he struggled, how he felt, and most importantly, in the song one mic, he discussed how the System always screwed over the black man. He wasn’t right. “One Mic,” was released in 2001, and for some reason some of the same problems he was talking about over 14 years ago, still exist. For example, black on black crime is DEFINITELY STILL AN ISSUE! Black on black crime is the main reason why black men are incarcerated or dead! Let's not forget racial profiling or police brutality!

If some of these knuckle heads get out of the streets and focus on something more important (school, work, or a passion), the black communities will be alright, but too many black men are just concerned with their rims, baby mamas, and hoes. #sadbuttrue. I feel that if black men can come together for a cause (Mike Brown/Trayvon Martin) then we all can come together to make our communities and this world a better place.
For example, when Nas was out, everyone could relate to what he was saying because I feel he genuinely wanted our people to come together! Nas talked about the struggles and his vision and if we start opening our ears and start listening to words, maybe we all can put that in perspective instead of jumping to conclusions and judging one another.
With all that said, I feel like in today’s society, all the high schoolers are so wrapped up with being cool, they are too blind to see what’s real hip hop and what’s not. The Miley Cyrus’, Katy Perry, Iggy Azealia, etc., IS NOT HIP HOP! IT’S BULLSHIT! I’m not trying to down any artist or their music, but as someone who grew up around hip hop music, with similar struggles, and have a passion for it, I feel like hip hop is being made a mockery, especially when Katy Perry and any other POP Artists, consider themselves rappers. Yeah, it’s cool to experience with genres, but DAMN CAN WE GET REAL HIP HOP BACK INTO MAINSTREAM MEDIA AND STOP BRAINWASHING THE NEXT GENERATION WITH BULLSHIT!!?!?!?!?!??! LEAVE COMMENTS ON FACEBOOK AND TWITTER LET’S GET THIS CONVO GOING #realhiphop … BRING BACK #TBT
